"The other notebook worth mentioning is Toshiba's Portege R600. Now, unless a computer will cook and clean up after me, any price tag of more than $2,000 is absurd these days. Regardless, it was a neat product. At 2.4 pounds, Toshiba still managed to keep the optical drive in the unit. That's unheard of. It's under an inch thin, as well, and has a seven-hour battery life with a 12.1-inch screen. The two coolest features? It has no moving parts, and you can still see all your work even if direct sunlight is hitting the screen."

07/09/09 – Bake-off: Six Business Notebooks, ChannelWeb.com
"Toshiba has a reputation among business users as the maker of reliable, no-nonsense laptops and the Tecra R10 (left), continues the tradition with its sleek-looking silver case. Our test unit was the R10-S4401, which has a Core 2 Duo P9300, 2.26-GHz processor, with 3 GB of RAM and ran Vista Business. Weighing in at 4.34 pounds, the R10 is the heaviest of all the units we tested for this review but, again, that doesn't necessarily mean it is heavy or uncomfortable to carry around. The 14.1-inch WXGA LED backlit display is driven by an Nvidia Quadro NVS 150M GPU and is big and bright. In light of the fact that the keyboard did not give as much feedback as we prefer, the spacing and size of the keys made typing error-free and quickly made us forget about our objection. "
